Rebecca is our resident "know it all" now. LOL, yep, that's right, she's in Grade 3 and just knows it all. (just in case you didn't know) She has literally taken hold of the Norwegian language and has not only learned to speak it, but can read it at a third grade level. She speaks with daddy alot. She is doing well in her other subjects also. One bad thing is that she has lost alot of her English reading! Which is a disappointment. She was reading on a grade 4/5 reading level, but has digressed a bit. I hope to regain that ground again soon......

Rebecca is in the local Saetre/Folkestad schools band. She plays the alto horn for the moment, but this is her first year. You start off with something like this and the second year you can play what you really want to. Her goal is to play the flute! I'm almost CERTAIN she will do well in this! If you know her well, you know she WILL do well playing the flute.

Rebecca has also dabbled in playing soccer as well. She has attended many training camps but is not on a team yet. We'll see what happens with that. She has gone to just about everyone's birthday parties or costume parties in her whole class! LITERALLY! Boys or girls......she is well liked with just about all her classmates. (a few boys "like" her, but as we tell her, EDUCATION, education, education!!!!)

From Rebecca herself: I miss the field trips at school in the US. I miss everyone I use to hang out with back home. I miss Uncle Tom, Aunt Sue, Jenny, Snoopy, Aunt Kim, Uncle Jimmy and the kids and Charliebear, everyone at my old school and church. That's all.....just everyone!!! I know they miss me too!

My turn

Ok, mom's typing, but these are my words. Ok mom, go. (Mom going) I like the fact that I'm going to graduate from Kindergarten. Soon. Daddy's going to find a new job and we will be moving and I can't wait. I'll miss some of my friends, but I can make new one's.

Oh, I got 2 new dresses from Kmart. Mom found them. They look nice. I really like the black one. It's cool. Oh, I got new shoes too, but they are a little too big. Found that out at church last week.

(Ok, mom's turn) Rebecca tends to think here, there and everywhere. So I thought I would brag just a little bit. She is almost out of Kindergarten. June is the final month. She's doing well. TOO WELL. She's already doing Grade 2 and 3 workbooks that I buy from Walmart/Kmart. She's doing them and getting them right! She's smart. Trying to keep up with her is like trying to keep up with the latest fashions.

Also, Rebecca attends Book Pals, Awana's at church (she's a Sparky) and can't wait to move. She wants to be closer to her Besta! I don't blame her.

Well, Rebecca knows she can beat everybody in Bowling at WII. We'll see. Matthew's going to beat her, I think, but don't tell her I said that. Oops. Too late, she just read it! (she says, Not uh, mom.) :o)

Ok, it's been a long time, but you have to know

Matthew and me are gonna have awards on May 31st at church. Awana awards. Mom has to sew on my little badges on my vest, but I'm gonna get more, I think I will. I can't wait. I've been good at Awanas. Pastor Dave has even said so. Mom and Daddy will be there too. I hope they serve ice cream. I like ice cream.

Mom said I could do something in the fall when I go to real school. Like soccer, or teeball or cheerleading. I have to pick only one though. I want to be a cheerleader. But I want to play hi-yah too. (karate) Can I pick two mom? (mom says no, just one)

I'll have to take a picture of my Awana vest when awards are over at church. Besta and U. Tom and A. Sue need to see it. Can Grady and Riley see it too Mom? (sure)

***From Momma Kooky, Becca walks away to get her vest and that's the end of that.***

From Momma Kooky

Rebecca just finished her first Awana's club at our church. She got 3 more badges and a stuffed bear to go on her vest. Also 2 more for Sunday school attendence. She's so proud of herself. AND...............she was thee ONLY one who memorized ALL, yes, I said, ALL of her memory verses for her Awana Cubbie club! We are so proud of her. All you have to do is start a verse for her and she finishes it. It's so neat to see!!! (and hear)

Matthew will join her sister in Cubbies this fall. Rebecca will do her 2nd year in Awana and then move up. Matthew will just start and learn from there. I can't wait. They learn about God, about sharing, about each other, about what it means to be a Christian, etc.

Can you believe Rebecca will be in Kindergarten soon?!?! Next spring we do the paperwork! I can't believe it! I truly can't. I will be mom to a 5 year old!!! WHEW! Where does the time go!?!?!?
